The Kicking Machine
Superbon Banchamek
Long-range kicking built on the teep and body kick, with the head kick earned rather than hunted. The Petrosyan finish is the textbook high-kick setup.
Superbon's defining moment — a head kick that ended a bout against Giorgio Petrosyan, a fighter who had gone the better part of a decade without being finished — is also the clearest single demonstration of the high kick's mechanics on this site's technique pages. It arrived on exactly the path a body kick had been travelling all fight.
His game is built on length. Tall for the division and comfortable at range, he uses the teep and body kick to keep opponents at a distance where his own kicks reach and theirs do not. The head kick is not thrown often; it is earned by making the lower attacks credible first, which is the vertical-misdirection principle in its most successful modern form.
Under ONE's judging philosophy, which weighs fight-ending impact above accumulated points, a finisher of this kind is worth more than it would be under GLORY or K-1 MAX scoring — another instance of the same fighter being valued differently by different rulebooks.
