Krush

The Japanese feeder promotion to the revived K-1, and where most of its current champions were developed.

Krush operates as the developmental tier beneath the revived K-1 in Japan, running under the same ruleset so a fighter moving up faces no adjustment. Takeru Segawa is the clearest product of the pathway, holding Krush honours before becoming K-1 champion across three divisions.

The arrangement is unusual in kickboxing, where feeder relationships are normally informal. Having a promotion explicitly matched to the parent organisation’s rules means the step up tests level rather than adaptation, which has made the Japanese lighter divisions unusually deep.

Cards run frequently and at a domestic scale, and they are the most reliable place to see Japanese prospects several years before they appear internationally.
