Anissa Meksen

French system: savate-influenced angular footwork and linear kicking, combined with high-volume, high-power hands.

Anissa Meksen came through the French system, which means savate as well as kickboxing and Muay Thai, and the influence shows in her footwork. She fights on angles more than most of the division, entering and exiting on lines rather than moving straight back, and her kicks arrive with the linear precision that savate training produces.

Her hands are the other half. Volume punching at a pace opponents cannot match, combined with genuine one-shot power, means she wins both the accumulation fight and the exchange. Very few fighters in the lighter women's divisions have been able to solve both problems at once.

She has competed successfully under multiple rulesets — French, GLORY and ONE — which is a useful indicator of how portable a technically grounded game is compared with one built around a code-specific speciality.
