Jorina Baars

Range-first: teep and body kick at a distance where clinch rules stop mattering, which let the same game work under both codes.

Jorina Baars went unbeaten across a long professional career spanning both Muay Thai and kickboxing rules, which is a rarer achievement than it sounds — moving between codes usually costs a fighter something, because the clinch and elbows either exist or do not.

Her game travelled well because it was built on range and the body kick rather than on clinch specialisation. Tall for her divisions, she used the teep and long kicks to fight at a distance where opponents could not establish grips, which made the presence or absence of clinch rules largely irrelevant to her.

She is the most decorated European woman in the sport's modern history and a central figure in the period when women's kickboxing moved from undercard to main event.
