Cédric Doumbé took the GLORY welterweight title from Nieky Holzken and held it across two reigns with a style that owes as much to the French tradition as to the Dutch one. He switches stance constantly, fights on angles rather than straight lines, and throws from positions opponents have not seen set up.
The stance switching is the technical core. Against an opponent whose whole game plan assumes a fixed lead leg, a fighter who changes it every few seconds invalidates the low-kick strategy that most of the division relies on — the target keeps moving, and the accumulated damage never accumulates.
He is also the most openly self-promoting figure in modern kickboxing, which has drawn criticism and has undeniably brought attention to a division that historically struggled for it.
