King of Kung Fu
Muslim Salikhov
Sanda mechanics: quick retractable strikes, aggressive catches, and clinch comfort produced by a code where throws score.
Muslim Salikhov is the most decorated Sanda competitor to cross into international combat sports, and his record reflects the enormous volume that the Chinese and Russian wushu systems produce.
Sanda is the one kickboxing code where throws score as heavily as strikes, and the strategic consequence shows in everything he does. A fighter trained where over-committing invites a catch and a dump develops quick, retractable strikes and an unusual comfort in the clinch — which is precisely the toolkit that transferred well when he moved into mixed martial arts.
He is the clearest current example of why Sanda belongs in any serious account of kickboxing rather than being filed as a separate tradition: the ruleset produces a distinct and identifiable fighter.
