Sanny Dahlbeck

Swedish Muay Thai base in a Dutch-dominated division: southpaw, kick-led, and comfortable fighting at range.

Sanny Dahlbeck is Sweden’s most successful modern kickboxer and a reminder that the European scene extends well past the Netherlands. He came up through Swedish Muay Thai, took national titles across seven years, and moved into GLORY and Enfusion at welterweight.

The Scandinavian route into the sport runs through Muay Thai rather than Dutch kickboxing, and it shows in the shape of his game: kicks that score in their own right rather than as the end of a hand chain, and a comfort at range that the Dutch template tends to train out.

Crossing into GLORY meant meeting a division built on Dutch pressure with a Thai-derived skill set, which is the same adjustment problem this site keeps returning to, one weight class down.
