Welterweight

GLORY’s deepest division through the 2010s — Holzken, Doumbé, Groenhart and Grigorian all in the same era.

GLORY welterweight in the 2010s is a reasonable answer to the question of the strongest single division the promotion has fielded. Nieky Holzken, Cédric Doumbé, Murthel Groenhart and Harut Grigorian traded the title between them across a period where every fight was competitive and the styles genuinely clashed — Holzken's boxing against Doumbé's evasiveness against Grigorian's pressure.

The division also illustrates how much a four-kilo gap matters at this weight. ONE's welterweight cap is nearly seven kilos above GLORY's, which puts a ONE welterweight closer to a GLORY middleweight in practice.

It is the division where the Dutch tradition has faced the strongest sustained challenge from the French school, and Doumbé taking the title from Holzken was the clearest expression of that.
